Archives For Prayer

Press In 2Lord, thank you for health. I don’t sincerely thank you often enough or acknowledge the blessing & benefit of good health. Thank you. For as long as I have it, I thank you. When my physical body is sound & alert; free from the distractions of pain & sickness, I can live & move & serve you more wholly. Thank you.

I am reminded of how dependent I am—of how weak I truly am. One infection, one virus, one sore throat, one cold sends me to my knees; to my bed needing rest, needing care, needing hydration, needing nutrition. Lord, how truly needy I am! The world keeps groping forward as I just lay there, humbled by a microscopic invader. He has brought me to my knees; rendered me useless for days.

Oh Lord, I am reminded of my limitations; of my essential Continue Reading…

720pI’m going to fight battles for you. You are in my work. I called you. Stand still. Hold your peace & see–witness my salvation; my mighty power.

Now, be strong. Square your shoulders. Lift up your head & move forward. Advance with the confidence of whom you serve & the cause for which you work. It is a noble & good work!

I hired you. I called you to do this task & will I leave you? Will I not empower you with the appropriate authority to succeed?

In my name you will purchase land. In my name you will guard my flock. In my name you will lead & strategize. In my name you will heal the sick; rebuke the wayward; cast out demons & bind powers of darkness.

My son, be strong & very courageous! Know that I am not only with you but I am for you, as well.

Prayer on Day 10

“I will not execute my burning anger; I will not again destroy Ephraim; for I am God and not a man, the Holy One in your midst, and I will not come in wrath.” –God (Hosea 11:9)

Comment: One of the wonderful differences between God & man is God’s absolute mastery over his emotions; especially when it comes to anger.

Prayer: Lord, you are holy. You have not nor will you burst out in fury; lashing out in in out-of-control anger. It’s not your nature.

Lord, you are patient. You are longsuffering even with those who are determined not to acknowledge you.

May my heart grow; may my compassion increase. Lord, may I be known as someone who is full of kindness, goodness & gentleness like you.

Forgive me, Lord. Forgive me. I get angry too quickly. Then I either openly give full vent to my anger or grow sulky & quiet. Regardless, it always hurts those around me. I’m sorry Lord. How ugly my impatience must look to you! How it must provoke you!

Please, continue to be merciful to me. With your faithful help I will grow. I will put off the old Charlie; my irritable self and put on the new Charlie created & sustained by you, Christ Jesus, my Lord.

May this transformation be a sign to those around me of your insatiable desire & ability to beautify all things.

You are my glory & the lifter up of my head.

Lord, you have blessed me to live 40 years—to not only experience life but to enjoy many of your gifts, as well.

You have given me health & a sound mind.

I enjoy the blessings & fruit of marriage to my more than gentle & kind partner & friend in life. Thank you for Jill.

You have blessed our union with healthy & bright children. The next decade is so critical to their development. Help me, Lord to be a faithful, loving, gentle & patient father—like you! Fill me with your spirit. Drive out my irritability; my short temper. May my kids feel that I enjoy being with them. Help me to make them feel like you continually make me feel. Lord, help me to not drive Kate away from me but to draw her toward me. Help me with Charlie—my namesake. He is so precious & fragile. I am the one that needs prayer; that needs help! He is innocent. Help me, Lord. Forgive me. May I raise him up not just physically but inwardly & emotionally; to fan the flame of a strong & indomitable spirit. May Oakley be an oak of righteousness—the planting of the Lord. & may Jude’s life be a praise; a thanksgiving offering acceptable & fully pleasing to you.

Lord, thank you for my parents. Help me to love & honor them for who they are & how they raised me—for the untold sacrifices they made on my behalf.

Thank you, Lord. Amen.

Low-batteryLord, I need to defrag–to clean & reset my hard-drive. I have too many apps running in the background. My battery is low. I simply need time to plug in & recharge. So, here I am Lord. Fill me with your strength, your mind. Give me the power to run all my other apps.

Lord, this week I commit, I resolve to seek you 1st. Help me, Lord! In the morning you will hear my voice; my heart being lifted up to you. Cause me, help me motivate me, show me, teach me to seek you. Why should I have to be taught to go to my strength, wisdom, counsel & might–my true protection? Have mercy on me.

Thank you, Lord. Amen.

The LORD is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him. Psalm 28:7 (ESV)
