What’s Most Important to Me

After reading The Power of Full Engagement, I was challenged to stop, think & than write down my highest values. In other words, what is most important to me. This practice helps us to see whether we are living our lives in alignment or not. For example, if family is one of my highest values then it should show in the way I actually live my life. This is called living in alignment with what is actually important. However, just as a car shakes & rattles along when it is out of alignment, so do our lives when we stop living in accordance with what’s most important. After being on the road for awhile we all need so stop & realign ourselves-our lives & schedules-to what’s most important. There is no time like the beginning of a new year to review again what’s most important. And then to make adjustments-plans & goals-that are in alignments with what’s really important. So, here is my review of…

What is Most Important to Me

  1. Hearing, receiving, uncovering a fresh & relevant word from God.
  2. Living a life of holiness & still overflowing with joy.
  3. Being a devoted & sensitive husband 1st & than a father, son, brother, uncle, etc. as well.
  4. Being earnestly & tangibly interested & concerned for the well being of others-for my friends, my brothers & sisters in the church & than others, as well.

In summary, relationships are really what is most important to me–my realtionship with God, my relationship with my family & my relationship with my church family (my true friends) & community, as well. Now, Lord help me to live in alignment in 2009.
