12 Benefits of the Blood of Jesus

Lord, may we never forget or loose appreciation for what your blood accomplishes for us. 1 drop of your divine blood is worth more than all the money in the world. It is more precious than the rarest pearl. It accomplishes what nothing else could do…nothing but the blood of Jesus.

  1. The Blood of Jesus inaugurates the New & Everlasting Covenant.
NKJ Luke 22:19-20 And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” 20 Likewise He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is shed for you. (Matt 26:26-28 / Mark 14:22-24)
NKJ Hebrews 13:20-21 Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, 21 make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.
  2. The blood of Jesus purchases me.
NKJ Acts 20:28 Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood. Continue Reading…

The Most Shocking Words Jesus Said

Do you keep photo’s that are completely distorted or out-of-focus? Why not? Well, because they’re worthless. You can’t tell who’s in it, what’s going on & it certainly won’t help you remember the occasion. Even more, would you share this photo on FaceBook? No, you simply delete it & forget it. In the same way, many people are carrying around a picture of Jesus that is completely distorted. Is it any wonder that the real Jesus is completely void of any meaning & power in their lives?

I want to invite you on a journey starting next Sunday, Sept 20th as we begin a new series called: “The Most Shocking Words Jesus Said.” We will go beyond the stereotypes & the plastic Jesus that bobbles on our dash boards. Join us over the next 5 Sundays, as we actually open our bibles & seriously consider the absolutely shocking things that came out of Jesus’ mouth. Why would he say them & what do they mean to us today?

Get ready to be shocked!

Understanding Why Trouble Comes

Troubles come for many reasons. However, seeking to understand why can be a real growth point for Christians. So, when trouble comes (& it will), go to the Lord, search your heart & see if you can’t get some understanding.

3 Reasons Why Trouble Comes:

  1. Sin: Living in open or secret rebellion against God.

This should be a no brainer. Sin kills. It puts us at odds with God-our relationship with him gets out of whack & it must be dealt with by the blood of Jesus. We sin daily, so we should go to Jesus daily. Don’t play with sin! Confess it to Jesus. Forsake it & keep coming to him for cleansing & strength.

Question: Is there an area where you are walking in secret or flagrant disobedience against God?

  2. The world we live in is fallen.

It was not this way at the beginning-in the Garden of Eden it was paradise. But we rebelled against God. Now, the entire world is experiencing the consequences of sin-complete selfishness, war, disease, hatred & on & on.

Question: Is the challenge your facing simply a result of living in a world in alienation from God?

  3. Growth: God’s wanting to teach us, correct us, stretch us or grow us.

Sometimes Oakley hasn’t done anything wrong…I’m just stretching him. For example, when we were teaching him to climb down the steps (he learned to go up no problem!) eventually I had to stop carrying him down. Boy, did he cry! I guess he felt rejected. How could I go down the steps without carrying ‘baby’ Oakley? Sure enough, he began to do what I had showed him over & over-turn around (a major accomplishment) & slide down the steps on his belly.

Question: Is God teaching, correcting, stretching or growing you in an area of your life?
