New Series: BeChristmas

Christmas is the time that we remember & celebrate the birth of Christ—our liberator & redeemer. Christ is central to Christianity. In reality, he is the center piece of humanity. But, Christianity is NOT just believing the right stuff about Christ, even though this is critical. It is also doing the right stuff. So, our goal this Advent season, is to focus intently on NOT just celebrating Christmas but being Christmas; on NOT just believing in Christ BUT actually being like Christ; on NOT just thinking right but translating our theology into behaviors everybody can understand.

Well, throughout scripture & particularly in the Christmas story itself there are 4 key action words or verbs that must be practiced if we are to ‘BeChristmas‘ this holiday season.

Here’s how we can ‘BeChristmas‘ together-1) Don’s miss one of the next 4 Sundays leading up to Christmas & 2) Pick up the ‘BeChristmas’ journal this Sunday & following along as we let our light shine this season.

dialogue: God’s 1st Questions to Man

All great dialogue or communication between people makes use of questions. We ask questions to find out how our friends are doing, where they are, what they’ve been up too. Whether we realize it or not, when we ask questions it shows that we care, that we are interested, that we want to know the other person.

Well, have you ever considered the questions that God asks us? Join us for the next 4 Sundays, starting April 11, as we begin a new series called dialogue: God’s 1st Questions to Man. We will investigate the 1st questions that God ever asked man & what they mean for us today.

Free People: The Power of Worship

Starting Sunday, March 14th we are beginning a new series called FreePeople: The Power of Worship. There is something that we do in church that will last forever. Preaching will cease. Giving of tithes & offering will not last (Can I hear an ‘Amen!’…sorry). Prayers will stop. But the praise, the worshiping, the honoring, the singing, the giving glory to God will never come to an end. Over the next 3 weeks I pray that God will set us FREE! Free to worship, to sing aloud & to unashamedly honor God with our voices, hands & feet, as well as our hearts. As we turn to the scriptures to learn how & why to praise I believe we will enter into a new dimension–a dimension where God’s presence & power is among us in a new way. Get ready…

Enchanted: Love that Last

Where are we & our kids primarily receiving our Sex Education? Where are we learning about dating? When to date? How to date? How far is too far? Where are we getting Marital Instruction? Where are we learning our Family Structure?

In the month of February we are beginning a new series of messages called Enchanted: Love that Last. We will be investigating God’s design for dating, sex, love & marriage. My prayer is that relationships will be strengthened during this time-current relationships & those in the future!

Besides the Sunday morning teaching time we are also offering several events in February to help us beef up on our relationships.

Here’s what’s going on-

  1. FREE babysitting every Saturday night in February from 6-10 at the church. For the love of God, you have no excuse! Go out on a date & don’t spend your time talking about the kids!
  2. There is a DATE CHALLENGE: Online tell us what you did for a date & the most creative & romantic couple will be chosen at my last message & receive an ENCHANTED night out on us!
  3. Valentine’s Day Dance for everyone singles & couples-all kinds of music. We’re just going to have a great party! Are we aloud to do that? (If you’re wondering…YES!) Babysitting starts at 5 the dance is from 7 to 10.
