Fundamentally, we offer 2 services for missional reasons. By missional, I mean that we want to win as many people as possible to Christ. Paul said that it was his practice to “become all things to all men so that by all possible means [he] might save some (1 Corinthians 9:22). We have different services precisely because there are different types of people. We want to “by ALL possible means” win as many people as we can. Hence, we offer a TRADITIONAL service at 9 am & a more CONTEMPORARY service at 10:45 am. The message is the same, but the style is different. For example, at our TRADITIONAL service the stained glass window is prominent, communion & prayer are offered 15 minutes before the service begins, we Pastors are in suits & ties, there is always a traditional hymn sung along with another older praise chorus & the overall volume is much more low key. However, in our CONTEMPORARY service the ties come off, the volume goes up, the lights are dimmer & songs are more current in sound. Remember, the message has not changed & as long as we are Pastors here it will not change.
